As President, Don oversees the company’s real estate development and construction initiatives across the Washington metropolitan area. He also serves as Asset Manager for the Simpson portfolio, providing strategic oversight of the firm’s assets and long-term investment objectives. A fourth-generation Alexandrian, Don earned a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction and Engineering from Virginia Tech. He began his career in 1982 with Eugene Simpson & Brothers General Contractors, where he held a range of roles including field supervision, scheduling, and project management across numerous projects.
Under his leadership, Simpson Real Estate Services has grown to manage more than 2 million square feet of commercial space and expanded the construction management activities to include industrial and automotive projects in addition to commercial multi-use developments.
Don is actively engaged in the local community and currently serves on several nonprofit boards, including Inova Alexandria Hospital, Alexandria Youth Sports, Rotary Club of Alexandria, and the Eisenhower Partnership. He resides in Alexandria, Virginia with his wife, Stacey, and their two sons, Cole and Max.
